Even if you preface this with please, you still sound patronizing. And anyway, why do you think I would print your e-mail? Do you think you are SO insightful that I would print out every word you type and carry it around with me in a three ring binder? I don't think so. But I just might start printing out your e-mails and snail-mailing them to you... just to be an ass. Now that would be 44 cents well spent.

Those Who Employ Right Wing Scare Tactics

There is so much craziness out there about health care, that I feel like I have to reflexively defend everything Obama does and says. This becomes problematic for me when I don't agree with something he is doing. If I speak up, am I just adding to the chorus of nonsense that is out there about health care? Will it seem like I am giving up or siding with conservatives?

Not that my support or non-support matters... at all...to anyone...but I want to be clear... I too am displeased with certain aspects of how this debate is playing out.

First, I would actually like a much more progressive single payer system, but failing that, at least a strong public option. It really doesn't look like either is going to happen, so if I am critical, it is not because I think Obama is going to kill my grandma or Sarah Palin's kid. I am mad because I voted for a progressive president and representatives to get a progressive piece of legislation passed... and that isn't happening right now.

Also, corrupt dealings like this really make me angry. I expect better from Obama.


My solace being that if the other guy had won, we wouldn't be talking about this at all because republicans seem to be operating under the laughable assumption that there is nothing at all wrong with the current system of health care in this country (anyone who really thinks this needs to spend some quality time with the google, I certainly don't have the time nor inclination to explain all of the reasons why this is not true on my rinky-dink blog).

Church Groups who send Hate Mail

So, apparently, Brad Pitt said something to the effect of, "Angelina and I will might get married when everyone else can get married," and he went on to make some statement in favor of equal rights for members of the LGBT community.

This prompted some church groups to send him hate mail.

Am I the only one who finds it deeply ironic and alarming that there are CHURCH groups out there sending HATE mail?

So, this is just a rhetorical question, but:

Republicans, this mob like behavior is certainly not something you are proud of, right?

No seriously, you should be embarrassed. Not only do your supporters look completely unhinged, but there is something decidedly classless about preventing people who have points of view that differ from your own to speak - particularly when the method of prevention involves shouting. Grow up and learn how to debate... use your words for Christ's sake!

Ed Rendell

Ed Rendell, I'm mad at you.

So, I get it, Arlen Specter is a democrat now (riiight), but I still don't think that means he should get a free pass at the democratic nomination for that senate seat. Let the voters decide. If we like him better than Joe Sestak, I suspect that we will vote for him.

Until there is a nominee, I feel like you should stay out of it.
